Calabrian Poke Bowl
The poke recipe brings with it a mix of delicious flavors and textures! It has ancient origins in 400 AD and was consumed as a snack by the fishermen of the Pacific Ocean who simply made it with fresh leftover fish.
Today the Poke bowl has become a big trend all over the world.
Below, you can find the recipe of poke Calabrian based on spicy anchovies, red onion of Tropea and pieces of pecorino cheese with nuts, all accompanied by rice Carnaroli Piana di Sibari.
The ingredients to prepare Calabrian Poke Bowl
- 250g Carnaroli rice from the Sibari plain
- 300g of spicy marinated anchovies
- 150g Pecorino with Walnuts
- 100g red onion from Tropea PGI
- q. b of salt and black pepper
- 20g Extra virgin olive oil
- 350 grams of raw salmon culled
How to prepare Calabrian Poke Bowl
First of all, place the Carnaroli rice from the Sibari Plain in a large strainer and rinse it under running water, shaking it with your fingers, until the water that comes out is no longer whitish.
Then turn off, let stand a couple of minutes and keep aside to cool.
Meanwhile, cut the salmon into cubes and let it marinate the red onion of Tropea and spicy anchoives from 30 minutes.
Slice pecorino cheese with walnus into cubes. When all the ingredients are ready, take a large bowl to add the rice, over the salmon and then the rest of ingredients.
If you like, add a handful of sesame seeds to taste!
