How to make peas with bacon
A very tasty dish that is easy to prepare. The sweetish flavour of the peas goes well with the intense taste of the Calabrian bacon, making it a delicious side dish to accompany meat dishes, for example. You can prepare this recipe with small, seasonal fresh peas or frozen peas, but the taste is guaranteed.
Ingredients for the peas with bacon recipe
- 350g peas (for 4 people)
- 100g of Calabrian bacon
- Extra-virgin olive oil to taste
- Salt and pepper to taste
How to make peas with bacon
In a pan let the butter melt on a low flame. Cut the bacon into strips or cubes and brown it with the melted butter and a tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil. Brown the bacon well on all sides for at least five minutes, making sure that it does not lose its natural tenderness.
Add the peas to the pan, season with salt and black pepper, then leave to cook with the lid on low heat for about 10 minutes. During cooking, stir gently from time to time. Once cooked, we serve our tasty peas with bacon on a plate.
